House of Neighborly Service (HNS) is a non-profit, multi-service, neighborhood center, founded in 1917 by Presbyterian missionaries. For 90 years, we have provided a variety of social, health, and educational services to families from San Antonio's Westside.
HNS programs are designed to help individuals and families move from a state of dependency towards one of self-sufficiency.
Who do we serve?
- Over 1400 low income families and individuals yearly
- 33% have graduated from High School
- 76% earn less than $15,000 a year
- 29% have Diabetes
- 92% are Hispanic
