Breadline

At HNS, we recognize that it is difficult to focus on moving onward and upward when one cannot put food on the table. Therefore, we offer two food distribution programs, Food Pantry and Breadline, to help families minimize the need for food. As this need is fulfilled, families can focus on improving their lives through other HNS services such as in-home parenting classes, respite care, exercise classes, diabetes education, and a variety of adult education opportunities.

Breadline is a weekly food service providing nutritious fruits, vegetables, meats, and bread products to individuals and families. We currently serve between 150-200 families a week. The food is purchased from Daily Bread Ministries and the San Antonio Food Bank. This outreach ministry is often the first time we meet families. It is an opportunity to build relationships and connect families with other services we offer. At HNS, we believe in giving people a "Hand Up" not a "Hand Out."
